Welcome to Balmore Golf Club

BALMORE is widely acknowledged as one of the finest inland golf courses in the West of Scotland.

Founded in 1907, the Vardon-designed course enjoys spectacular, uninterrupted views across majestic countryside yet lies just seven miles from the centre of Glasgow. It offers demanding but highly enjoyable golf to suit all standards of player.

While maintaining the best traditions of the sport, we have a progressive outlook and offer a warm welcome to visitors. We take special pride in our course and in recent years have invested heavily in a major greens redevelopment programme, bringing all 18 up to USGA standard. Our 10-acre practice area is one of the largest and best in Scotland.

Our clubhouse incorporates a comfortable and well-appointed lounge where you can relax and enjoy refreshments from the bar and first-class cuisine from the kitchen while looking out over the course from the large picture windows. The adjoining dining room is ideal for celebrations, private functions and corporate entertaining.

MEASURING DEVICES

Local Rule

For all play at this Course, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.

If during a stipulated round, a player uses a Distance Measuring Device* that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play (e.g. gradient, windspeed, temperature, slope etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such function is actually used.

* Distance Measuring Devices include all multi functional devices such as iPhones, Blackberry’s, Electric Caddie Cars with built in distance measuring technology etc.
